Care and Maintenance Instructions
Waterlox® tung oil
Signature Custom Woodworking is proud to furnish you with this solid wood countertop.
The wood for your top has been carefully selected from the finest grades of kiln dried lumber available. After the top has been produced to fit your particular needs for size, shape, and species, we apply a Waterlox® Tung Oil Finish. This product penetrates the fibers of the wood and builds to a top coat sealer. This added protection is easily maintained with manufacturer recommended “maintenance” once or twice a year as needed. Waterlox® is “baby safe” when dry and recommended by the manufacturer for wood countertops.
Your top has been designed to be used as a working surface. Scratches or burns can be easily removed by sanding with a fine grit sandpaper (#220 Grit is preferred), remembering to sand in the direction of the grain. Then buff the area with an Abralon® 1000 grit or higher buffing pad. Finish with the application of Waterlox® following the directions on the product.

As with any special finish (Conversion Varnish, Waterlox®, Polyurethane, etc…). We recommend you allow 30 days before placing any permanent fixtures on the top surface such as small appliances or flower arrangements.
