FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What do I do if my top gets damaged?
A: Scratches or burns from hot pots can be removed by sanding with a fine grit sandpaper (220 or 240 grit). After removing the spots, follow up with mineral oil or Waterlox® tung oil. More significant problems should be directed to you dealer or to our Customer Call Line 1-336-983-9905.
Q: How do wood tops compare to other surface materials?
A: The most significant variables in arriving at a price for your wood top are the wood species and the thickness that you select. We include the edge profiles, sink cut-outs, curves, and radius cuts (all fabrication) at no extra charge and encourage you to incorporate these features into your design. Please note that the Sonoma and Reynolda edge profiles require 2” and 3” thickness, respectively. Approximately twenty edge profiles are available on our 1 ½” to 1 ¾” standard thickness tops. In general, custom made solid wood tops are a premium product and compete favorably with granite and solid surface products. We strive to hand-select proper lengths of wood that will enable us to build your top without seams in the grain direction (length), thereby creating a more uniform and beautiful surface.
Q: How long will my top last?
A:
With care, your top should last a lifetime!
